I try to check out Southern Savers, my fave couponing website, at least once a day since the better deals can come and go quickly. I saw that Allergy Superstore.com was offering an amazing special: $10 off any order. Combine that with $3.99 shipping and this was deal worth exploring!
I've never shopped at Allergy Superstore.com before today so really did not know what to expect. I was prepared for over-priced, kind of high end (or wanna-be high end) allergy prevention products that made a lot of crazy promises about keeping my family safe and healthy. No pre-judgment here!
As a division of Drugstore.com, Allergy Superstore.com is very real and very down to Earth. Their product lines include over the counter allergy and asthma medications, some products that are difficult to find in stores, homeopathic and herbal medications, hypoallergenic make-up and skincare, even a line of gluten free foods. They sell the same brand names you know and trust as well store brands and generics.
There's also a selection of household cleaning supplies, humidifiers, air cleaning products, allergy encasements, vacuums, etc, etc. The prices were competitive and there were online specials going on that could be combined with the $10 off deal. Real products, real names, good prices. As you can tell by my pre-judgment, I'm a little suspicious of certain online stores. This is a legit site selling products we need at competitive prices.
Imagine my disappointment when the link for the $10 off deal didn't work! I called customer service to see why this deal was posted on Ebates but not working at checkout. I had the pleasure of talking to Pat, who was willing to find out what was happening instead of just giving me a canned answer. Outstanding customer service is always appreciated!
I was reassured that there is a $10 off any purchase special going on through 8/31/10, limit one use per transaction. There is no minimum purchase necessary (I think it will take the full amount off if your order is less than $10, no money maker here). The Ebates link has been shut down because non-affiliated websites and blogs used that link and its codes as if they were affiliates. In Pat's words, "a few ruined it for many." Pat went on to say that Allergy Superstore.com intends to run this promotion until it's published expiration date and it is still available through Google, Yahoo, and Bing. The site itself does mention "while supplies last," so it is possible this deal could end anytime if it continues to be popular.
Pat also told me that Allergy Superstore.com sends email promotions similar to this great deal to members. Promotional codes sent out to members are one time use only so you don't have to worry about the promotion being stopped to limit Internet abuse. I was signed up when I placed my order today.
Allergy Superstore.com takes its shipping responsibilities seriously. Your order is shipped within 24 to 48 hours and shipping partners are expected to have your standard shipping order at its destination within 10 business days. If your order is not received by this deadline you don't get the runaround. A replacement order is shipped out asap so you don't have to wait for weeks while the problem is researched. I recently had to wait for 7 business days beyond my stated delivery date for an online order from an unrelated company, so I really liked hearing this promise.
Fall is coming, and bringing seasonal allergies along with pumpkins and cool weather. That's sad considering that in some areas, it feels like Spring allergy season never ended. With the coming colder weather, we will face less humidity, woodsmoke from fires, mold from falling leaves, recirculated air to breathe, and a couple of unfriendly flu's.
So my favorite season means chronic dry skin, exzema, allergies, nasal congestion, ear infections, sinus infections, and asthma flare-ups. I'm psyched about the next few months, but I'm also psyched that I joined Allergy Superstore.com and can start stocking up on items we're going to need to enjoy the Fall.
