This picture is worth a million bucks to me. Clara-Bear has a crazy, on the go, lifestyle with four therapy appointments in Nashville every week and four afternoons of school every week. There's also the entourage of doctors that she loves to hate.
This past Tuesday, we got home from therapy at 12:00 and had to leave for school at 12:15. Yesterday, we left for appointments in Nashville at 12:40 and were stuck on I-65 in the pouring rain at 6:30. The natural way to make the most of this kind of scheduling is to feed the kids snacks and even meals while we're driving from appointment A to appointment B. Except Clara-Bear will only drink from a straw cup in the car.
Until we discovered GoGo squeeZ apple sauces, she refused to eat in her car seat unless I held her food so she could use a fork. Since I'm the designated driver, there have been too many days where at least two of her meals and her snack have been nothing but Pediasure. If there was time, I stood on the running board of our SUV in some parking lot trying to get her to eat so we could get back on the road. Do you wonder why she never gained any weight? This is why I am so excited to find a food that she will actually eat while we're driving!
GoGo squeeZ apple based sauces are sold in re-sealable pouches. Each 3.2 ounce pouch contains a full serving of fruit. The short, stubby straw is built into the top and cannot be removed. Wow, do I wish we had these when we were teaching Clara-Bear to drink from a straw! The straw cannot be crushed by a young user, and the short stubby shape acts like a natural block. GoGo squeeZ pouches are sold in boxes of four and flavors are appleapple, applebanana, applestrawberry, applecinnamon, and applepeach. They are 100% fruit, no added sugar, gluten free, dairy free, and kosher.
I wanted to give one of my readers the opportunity to win some GoGo squeeZ apple sauces so badly! Didn't happen, but we were blessed to get a sample pack of the applecinnamon and applepeach. Since our local Whole Foods only sells appleapple and applestrawberry, we were excited to try the new flavors. They are all tasty, even my pickiest child (aka DH) likes them!
Since I couldn't share GoGo squeeZ with you all, I did share my samples locally. I gave one to a friend to try with her 9 month old - kind of nice to have a spoon free snack at that age. I gave a couple to Clara-Bear's Speech Therapist to use in feeding therapy. I never go out without a couple in our backpack so was able to give one to a store employee whom I overheard complaining about his blood sugar dropping since he was Diabetic and couldn't go to lunch. GoGo squeeZ pouches do not need to be refrigerated until they are open, so Miss Nosy Nurse here suggested he carry a pouch with him instead of trying to use bites of a candy bar to keep his blood sugar up. He gave me an extra discount on the shoes I bought as a thank you!
GoGo SqueeZ is manufactured by Materne, one of the most popular applesauce companies in France. In fact, over a billion GoGo squeeZ pouches have been sold in France. GoGo Squeez has competition here in the U.S., but I have to say, they are the most reasonably priced of the fruit sauce pouches that I've seen in my area or online. The flavor and quality for the price is not a disappointment at all - I just wish my local grocery store sold them so I didn't have to drive all the way to Whole Foods! They are great for lunch boxes, allergy friendly so make a welcome school snack, and could be useful when you are trying to teach your child to use a straw.
You can purchase GoGo Squeez apple sauces through Amazon

Barbara from Baby Dippers referred me to your blog (which I will be quoting for my review). I have a son with a speech delay, and have a review/giveaway going right now for SpeechWays speech therapy program I thought you might want to check it out on my blog at www.theknitwitbyshair.blogspot.com. The link is in the side bar. Going to follow and become a facebook fan ;)
