First of all, as a new blogger, I had no clue such a thing even existed.
Secondly, ethically speaking, I'm not that type of person (I guess I took for granted that this was common knowledge - lesson learned!).
Yes, I do consider able2able to be a part time job. My hope is to replace a part time nursing income with freelance writing so I can meet my daughter's needs while helping DH support our whole family. So able2able gives me a way to share what I'm learning as a research happy Special Needs mother, a way to practice my writing and researching skills, and hopefully someday will contribute to the family income. I do post affiliate links on able2able and will clearly label those links so there is full transparency of any affiliate relationships. I recently canceled Adsense because I felt all I was getting from that relationship was an ad cluttered blog. I also worried that their ad lists looked too much like my directory lists and did not want followers to be tricked into clicking on an ad link. But I am open to selling ad space if it does not interfere with able2able's mission of sharing meaningful Special Needs related information. In the past I have turned down offers of freebies in return for a product review, but I have decided that I will accept free items in order to evaluate them for review as long as it is clear that acceptance of a free item is not a guarantee of a positive review. I will not accept an item that I don't need for review, but might ask if I can give or loan that item to someone I trust to write their own objective and honest guestblogger review. I will not accept payment, either in the form of money or giftcards, in exchange for a product or site review.
I do promise able2able followers that:
I will never sell or share any follower information.
I will never attempt to contact you personally unless it is directly related to blog business (e.g. you win a giveaway, I want to invite you to write as a guest blogger post).
I will not disguise a sponsored post as a regular blog post.
Product reviews will be honest: the good, the bad, and the ugly will be discussed.
All posts by me are my personal opinion unless otherwise stated - and worth about as much as any opinion is worth!
All affiliate links and relationships will be disclosed.
Comments with conflicting points of view will be published as long as they do not contain insults or vulgarity.
Comments that are about spamming followers instead of sharing information will not be posted.
You will always have an opportunity to comment. Those comments will remain moderated for now, but that is to protect us from spammers and from people who think it's fun to post mean-spirited comments on Special Needs sites.
This policy will grow and evolve with able2able, but I promise that I will always strive for full transparency and will always be an honest and open friend.
